Bethel Park parents want location of dangerous bus stop moved

BETHEL PARK, Pa. — Parents in Bethel Park contacted Channel 11 News after they said they tried contacting the school district about a dangerous bus stop, but nothing has been done.

The bus stop in question is at the intersection of Superior and Longcrest roads. The parents said there and no sidewalks at the stop, and the Armstrong Middle School students stand on busy roads.

Mary Ann DiPardo said she complained last year to the school district, but the stop has not been changed.

DiPardo told Channel 11’s Jodine Costanzo that a Bethel Park police officer was at the stop Friday morning, but she still would like the stop changed to a safer location.

“Someone’s going to get hurt. This intersection is dangerous,” DiPardo said. “Cars don’t always stop.”

Officials with the Bethel Park School District said they are aware of the situation and are looking into it.
