BOLO issued for carjacked vehicle possibly involved in drive-by shooting

WILKINSBURG, Pa. — Authorities have issued a “Be On The Lookout” for a vehicle that was carjacked in Monroeville Monday night and believed to be involved in a shooting in Wilkinsburg.

According to police, a man drove off in a woman’s 2005 white Chevy Cobalt with a partial Ohio license plate of FHC-2.

Authorities said the man approached the woman around 7:30 p.m. Monday in the parking lot outside the Cedar Ridge Apartments off Stroschein Road.

The woman told detectives the man pushed her to the ground, took her keys and drove off.

“I was freaked out and nervous,” Cedar Ridge resident Kyle Yargeau said after learning of the carjacking. “I have four kids and if it happened to me when I had the kids.”

The same vehicle reportedly was involved in a drive-by shooting early Tuesday in Wilkinsburg, Monroeville police Chief Doug Cole said.

Monroeville police are investigating the carjacking, while Allegheny County police are investigating the shooting, Cole said.

Anyone with information on the car’s whereabouts is asked to contact police.

Managers at Cedar Ridge told Channel 11's Jennifer Tomazic (@JenniferTomazic) that the woman is shaken up, but doing OK.
