BUTLER, Pa. - A Butler man turned himself
in to police Wednesday and confessed to sexually assaulting two children over the past 10 years.
Authorities said Stephen Batchelder worked as a babysitter and watched children out of his own house.
According to police, Batchelder told officers he has been having nightmares about his crimes, so he decided to come forward.
Investigators said Batchelder told them one of the victims was
5 years old, and the other was 6 months old. He also said the incidenst started in 2002.
Batchelder told detectives that he admitted his wrongdoing because he "wanted to get it all off his chest, because it has been like a recurring nightmare."
Police said Batchelder told them he "has a sexual addiction and needs help."
Officials have not said what charges Batchelder will face.
Police are urging any other possible victims to come forward
