PITTSBURGH - A car crashed through a guardrail and went about 100 feet over a hillside on Mt. Washington Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened about 12:30 p.m. in the 1700 block of Grandview Avenue.
The driver, who has not been identified, was able to get himself out of the car, which came to rest against a tree, said Amera Gilchrist, district chief for the city of Pittsburgh Emergency Medical Services.
A high-angle rescue was performed by emergency crews who harnessed and hoisted the driver from the hillside using an aerial ladder, said Gilchrist.
The driver was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries.
