CHARLEROI, Pa. - Shyann Sanpietro and her boyfriend, Christopher Raible, faced a judge on child abuse charges Thursday.
According to police, San Pietro’s 3-year-old had extensive bruising and two burn marks on his body.
Police said Sanpietro called her mother in July saying, “He’s not listening to me. I almost choked him.”
The boy told police that the couple hit him, made him take cold baths and beat him with a belt.
A neighbor told Channel 11 he doesn’t believe the accusations.
“If any of that were true, I would hear screaming next door,” he said.
The boy’s mother is being held on $100,000 bond. Her boyfriend is being held on $60,000.
Family members are taking care of the boy. They said he’s happy and healing.
