SHARPSBURG, Pa. - Police took one teenager into custody and continue to search for another man after a chase Tuesday afternoon in Sharpsburg.
According to police, an officer noticed the 17-year-old and another man walking suspiciously on Eighth Street. The pair then began running from the officer when he told them to stop.
Authorities said police caught up with the teen, and he bit an officer during the confrontation.
Police said they found marijuana in his possession. He was charged with aggravated assault and a drug offense, officials said.
Channel 11's Renee Kaminski reported that police believe the second man escaped on a Port Authority bus.
Investigators said a third person told police he found a gun. That person was not charged, and authorities believe the gun was dropped by one of the other two men during the chase.
The officer’s bite wound is not believed to be serious.
