Cops: Kittanning man stole games from hospital where son was treated for burns

PITTSBURGH — A man has been jailed on charges he tried to steal video game equipment from the family waiting room of a Pittsburgh hospital where his son was being treated for burning himself with a cigarette lighter.

Online court records don't list an attorney for 36-year-old Jim Skursky Jr., of Kittanning, who was arrested while visiting his son 5-year-old son, Anthony, on Feb. 21 at UPMC Mercy hospital.

Pittsburgh police say they were called when hospital staff saw a video game control in his pocket and learned he had loaded other equipment into a bag. He faces a preliminary hearing Thursday and remained in the Allegheny County Jail unable to post bond Monday.

Authorities say Skursky's son was burned Feb. 20 when his t-shirt caught fire while playing with a lighter at the home of Skursky's girlfriend.
