Countywide state of emergency declared in Monongalia Co.

Monongalia County declared a "countywide state of emergency" on Sunday after a winter storm dumped many inches of snow in the area.
Considerable snowfall continues into early Monday morning, created dangerous driving conditions.
Emergency officials said the weather was to blame in nearly 50 accidents Sunday. Officials were also concerned about heavy, wet snow leading to widespread power outages.
Monongalia Schools, West Virginia University and the area’s court system were all shut down until Tuesday.
