FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. — State police in Fayette County are looking for a couple wanted in connection with multiple thefts at numerous Walmarts in the area.
Investigators said the first theft happened on Aug. 11 at a store in Connellsville.
Detectives said they later received information that the same couple stole items from a Walmart in Cranberry Township and another in Irwin.
Investigators said the man wore a fake beard to disguise his identity during at least one of the thefts. Police said the man dismantles locks on electronics equipment cases and then places the electronics in a bag or container and carries them out of the store.
The woman involved, police said, acts as a lookout for the man.
“It’s a shame. People should work for what they buy,” one Walmart shopper said Thursday.
Walmart officials said the pair has stolen $30,000 of merchandise from various stores.
