Daughter continues search for her mother's killer 4 years later

MORRIS TOWNSHIP, Pa — Four years after the murder of a Greene County woman, her family and friends continue to search for her killer.

According to police, someone shot and killed 70-year-old Betty McClellan during a home invasion back on March 22, 2009, at her Morris Township home.

Her husband was also shot during the invasion, but survived.

No arrests were ever made, but now, McClellan’s daughter, Lisa Gerhart, is hoping someone comes forward soon with information about this cold case.

“We wish someone would say something, you know, to help find this person who did this and figure it out,” said Gerhart. “There's so much speculation out there. So many people have so many different theories and everything, but we don't know for sure and it could be somebody you pass on the street. You never know.”

A reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest in this case.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact state police in Waynesburg.
