M.E. identifies man killed after crashing into creek

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The Allegheny County Medical Examiner has identified a driver who was killed after crashing into a creek Thursday afternoon in Scott Township.

Authorities said the accident happened along Hope Hollow Road around 1 p.m.

The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office identified the victim as 35-year-old Christopher Johnson, of the Carnegie and Scott Township area.

Investigators said a passerby who saw the crash tried to save the victim but wasn’t able to do so by himself.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
