Employee records robbery prank at Scott Twp. restaurant on cellphone

SCOTT TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A man is facing criminal conspiracy charges after police said he pretended to rob a Scott Township Pizza Hut on Thursday and a worker filmed it on her cellphone.

According to police, the man said he wanted to play a prank on the restaurant’s manager and told an employee to “get ready to videotape something funny.”

Investigators said the man ran behind the counter, yelled obscenities and sprayed a fire extinguisher throughout the store.

Police said the man also took a cash register and dropped it on the floor.

At one point, other employees at the Greentree Road restaurant became worried and didn’t know the man was pretending, so they called police.

Authorities said charges are pending against the woman who recorded the incident.
