Event benefiting Special Olympics sends people plunging into Beaver River

BRIDGEWATER, Pa. — The Beaver County Special Olympics held their first polar plunge Saturday in Bridgewater.

Participants braced themselves for the cold as they jumped into the waters of the Beaver River for the event.

Those who were not prepared to go all in also had the options of jumping in a kiddy pool or simply dipping their toes in the river.

Proceeds from the event benefit Special Olympics of Beaver County.
