Family, friends of victims killed in crash attend driver's court appearance

SMITH TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A teen charged in a fatal crash that killed two of his friends last year in Washington County faced a judge Wednesday.

According to police, 19-year-old Jordan Jacobson was driving under the influence at the time of the crash on July 27 on Joffre-Bulger Road in Smith Township.

The crash resulted in the death of two of Jacobson’s friends, 22-year-old Michael Dillon Gregg and 20-year-old Joseph Bowland.

Channel 11's Cara Sapida was in court Wednesday and reported a strong show of support by Michael Gregg and Bowland's family and friends.

“There are a lot of people hurting. It’s affected a lot of people,” Michael Gregg’s father, Mike Gregg, said. “It’s left a big hole in my heart. I walk around every day with something missing.”

Mike Gregg said the difficult process has been made a bit easier by the support he’s received.

"It makes us feel good because we are not alone in this. There are people who care," Mike Gregg said.
