EXPORT, Pa. - A Westmoreland County family is making one last effort to find their daughter’s missing dog.
Geri Keitzer told Channel 11 News in January that her 27-year-old daughter, Airman Brenda Keitzer, left her dog with her parents while deployed on an unidentified mission in the Air Force.
At the time, Geri Keitzer said she was concerned because the white Siberian husky, Koda, went missing on Dec. 31.
Keitzer has since returned home, but Koda is still missing, so the family hired a pet detective to help with their search.
“We do everything together. We get up in the morning and run before work every day. Then I come home and we go kayaking,” Keitzer said.
An emotional Keitzer said Wednesday that hiring the pet detective is her last hope in finding Koda.
“He may not be alive anymore, and we’re hoping that if that’s true, we can at least get some closure,” Keitzer said.
The pet detective brought three dogs with her who are trained to track Koda’s scent.
“I’m willing to try anything to get my dog back,” Keitzer said.
Keizter said she’s also posted hundreds of flyers around the area. Anyone with information on Koda’s whereabouts is asked to contact 724-733-1878.
