HARRISON CITY, Pa. - A woman has died from injuries suffered in a skiing accident at Seven Springs Mountain Resort.
Fran Strane, 52, died Saturday at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center in Johnstown.
Strane’s husband, Roger Strane, and their children made the painful decision to take her off life support.
“She was just a beautiful and talented person who was an avid skier, who ate well and who did wonderful things,” said Roger Strane.
Strane worked as a nurse in the Penn-Trafford School District.
A nurse in the district told Channel 11 Strane was known for her compassionate touch and patience.
“She gave us the courage that came from her. You felt stronger and more capable when you were with Fran,” said co-worker Betsy Sandala.
Strane was critically injured in a crash at the resort on Jan. 31.
Seven Springs spokeswoman Ann Weltz says the resort is "deeply saddened by this tragic accident."
“As a family, we’re going to watch out for each other, care for each other and we’re going to carry out her wishes,” said Roger Strane.
