Family of slain Stowe Township woman seeks donations for funeral costs

STOWE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The family of a slain Stowe Township woman said they are looking for donations to help pay for the woman's funeral costs.

Elizabeth Cannon, 21, was shot to death Wednesday at her home.

Investigators said Cannon's boyfriend shot her and then tried killing himself. When officers arrived, the unidentified man was found overcome by natural gas fumes.

The man is expected to survive.

Family members said the couple had been together for four years, but Cannon was ready to move on.

"One of the reasons why she stayed with him for so long is because she felt guilty because she felt like he saved her. You know, that guilt will get somebody killed," Christina Cannon said.

Cannon will be buried on Monday.

Family members are accepting donations through the Slater Funeral Home in Brentwood.
