Fayette Co. man accused of choking girl, 15, charged with harassment, simple assault

SMOCK, Pa. — A Fayette County man is facing harassment and simple assault charges after police said he choked a 15-year-old girl Sunday.

Authorities said John Mills is accused of choking the girl after she asked him for clean diapers.

According to police, Mills was playing video games at his home in Smock when the teen asked him where she could find clean diapers for a baby who was also in the home at the time.

Detectives said Mills then became “highly enraged, jumped up and started choking the girl.” Officials said he then threw her onto a bed.

Neighbors who live on Mills’ street said they were surprised to hear about the charges.

The teenage girl’s name and condition have not been released.
