Flames burn through roof of home in Ross Township

ROSS TOWNSHIP, Pa. — Flames burned through the roof of a home in Ross Township on Monday night.

Fire officials told Channel 11 News that an elderly woman and her son lived at the house. Both made it out safely.

Ross Township Fire Marshal John Reubi said that it appears the flames started in the attic area.

"There's quite a bit of damage," Reubi said. "Between the water, smoke and fire damage ... I think it would probably be a total loss."

The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
