Giant Eagle plans to hire 550 new employees for Valu King, other North Hills stores

PITTSBURGH — Giant Eagle wants to hire 550 new full- and part-time employees for its new Valu King store and for Giant Eagle and GetGo locations in the North Hills.

The O’Hara-based supermarket chain announced two job fairs: One on Saturday, for the first Valu King discount grocery store in the Pittsburgh area, and another Sept. 29 for Giant Eagle and convenience store GetGo locations.

Both events will run from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Holiday Inn, 4859 McKnight Road. No appointments are needed.

Giant Eagle Inc. said Thursday the combined 550 positions are for the Valu King to open this fall on McKnight Road in Ross, plus Giant Eagle stores in Shaler, Bellevue, Ross and Fox Chapel and GetGos in Cranberry and Ross.

Management, food preparation, grocery and other positions are available.
