Gunman fires several shots inside Beltzhoover bar; Victim in serious condition

BELTZHOOVER, Pa. — Police are looking for a man who they said walked into a Beltzhoover bar late Tuesday night and shot another person three times.

Witnesses told police the gunman walked into Red’s Ringside Café just before 11 p.m. and fired several shots at the male victim.

Authorities said the gun eventually jammed and the shooter fled the scene.

Officials said the victim, whose name hasn’t been released, is in serious condition at UPMC Mercy Hospital.

Investigators haven’t released any information about a potential suspect. Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to contact police.

Neighbors told Channel 11's Brittny McGraw that the bar has been connected to violence before, and they're concerned.

“There’s always something going on. Last year a woman was killed coming from the bar,” one neighbor said.

On Feb. 28, 2013, 28-year-old Tiona Jackson was shot and killed after she left Red’s Ringside Café. Another man was also injured in the shooting.

“There have been fights out there late at night a few times,” a neighbor said.
