Driver killed in head-on collision with tractor-trailer in Washington Co.

CHARTIERS, Pa. — A driver was killed when their SUV collided head-on with a tractor-trailer Tuesday morning in Washington County.

According to police, the accident was reported on Henderson Avenue just south of Petronka Lane in Chartiers about 10:30 a.m.

Investigators said the victim was traveling south on Henderson Avenue and after coming through a slight right bend in the roadway, their vehicle crossed the center line and struck a northbound tractor-trailer head-on.

According to the coroner, the victim died of multiple blunt force trauma. Their name hasn’t been released.

The driver of the tractor-trailer suffered minor injuries.

The crash remains under investigation, but the death has been ruled accidental.
