Heroin, marijuana, Xanax seized as result of S. Strabane Twp. traffic stop

SOUTH STRABANE TOWNSHIP, Pa. — A Belle Vernon man was remanded to the Washington County Jail Thursday afternoon after police said he was found to be driving with a suspended license and in possession of drugs and large sum of cash.

State police said they pulled over Charles Joseph Shider Jr., 23, at the Park and Ride in South Strabane Township for a moving violation when further investigation revealed Shider was driving with a suspended license.

Shider allegedly was also in possession of 857 packs of heroin, a small amount of marijuana, 11 and a half Xanax pills and $7,945 in cash, which state police said were seized as a result of the traffic stop.

Shider is in the Washington County Jail for violation of his probation with bail set at $25,000 straight cash.
