Investigators release photos of purse-snatching suspect's car

PITTSBURGH — Authorities have released surveillance photos of a vehicle police are searching for in connection with recent attempted purse-snatchings in the Pittsburgh area.

Investigators said the thief targeted an elderly woman in the parking lot of the Giant Eagle at Parkway Center Mall.

The man allegedly drove next to the woman and tried to steal her purse, knocking her to the ground in the process.

The surveillance photos show the vehicle is a blue, older model Buick with a vanity plate on the front.

Another attempt was reported on McKinney Lane, where a woman was attacked and dragged.

The councilwoman in that district said she’s secured funding for nearly three dozen security cameras to help the public feel safe.

Anyone with information on the vehicle or suspect is asked to contact police.
