LEECHBURG, Pa. — For the second time in 10 days, the Farmers & Merchants Bank branch in Leechburg has been robbed, according to police.
Authorities said officers were called to the bank on Market St. just after 1 p.m. Friday.
According to Channel 11's news exchange partners at the Valley News Dispatch, there was a constable inside the bank at the time and he chased the robber.
Police said the man jumped into a white box van with the words “Hite Electric” on it and a Pennsylvania license plate “YMT-9534.”
The vehicle was believed to be headed toward Etna.
The bank was robbed July 31 by a man in his mid-50s.
Investigators said there is a chance the same person robbed the bank both times.
