Lightning possible cause of Hazelwood porch collapse

PITTSBURGH — Lightning may be to blame for a porch collapse in Pittsburgh's Hazelwood neighborhood Saturday, investigators said.

The collapse happened at the intersection of Path Way and Chaplain Way, causing bricks and shingles to fall.

Neighbors told Channel 11 that nobody was home at the time of the lighting strike and collapse.

"You can tell the damage from all those bricks that fell. You can see the hole where all the bricks are gone from, so that's going to be a costly repair," said Brittany Moore.

An official cause of the collapse has not been determined.
