Man accused of kidnapping, sexually assaulting neighbor, 6, appears in court

FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. — A man accused of abducting and sexually assaulting a 6-year-old neighbor in May appeared in court Wednesday.

Brian Lynch, 45, is accused of kidnapping the boy from his home in Henry Clay Township and driving him to a Latrobe park, where he allegedly sexually assaulted him, then left him alone, police said.

Lynch allegedly lured him by telling him they were going to get ice cream.

Lynch waived all charges to court Wednesday.

Prosecutors said 10 to 20 years is the mandatory maximum sentence for rape of a child under the age of 13.

According to the criminal complaint, in another incident, Lynch asked a 13-year-old boy for sex.
