Man accused of raping 16-year-old in Oil City park

OIL CITY, Pa. — An 18-year-old man was arrested after police said he raped a teenager and threatened her with a knife.

Randy Sollinger is charged with rape and indecent assault.

Sollinger is accused of raping the 16-year-old girl Saturday afternoon under a bridge at Justice Park in Oil City.

According to the criminal complaint, the girl told police Sollinger "pulled her close to him and she could feel the knife he had in his pocket."

After the assault, police said Sollinger sliced a dead raccoon open with the knife and told the girl to "Be quiet."

Investigators said Sollinger claimed the sex was consensual. He remains in the Venango County Jail. A preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.
