Man arrested after SWAT situation in Mount Washington

PITTSBURGH — A man was arrested after a SWAT team was called to a domestic dispute in Mount Washington early Sunday morning, police said.

The incident began about 3:30 a.m. when a man locked his wife out of a house in the 400 block of Norton Street and barricaded the door, Public Information Officer Sonya Toler said.

The couple's 2-year-old child was inside the house during the SWAT situation, which ended about 6 a.m. when authorities removed the door from its hinges, Toler said.

Alexander Mendosa was taken into custody and charged with domestic simple assault, unlawful restraint and endangering the welfare of a child.
