INDIANA BOROUGH, Pa. — Police arrested a man accused in an attempted kidnapping in Indiana Borough Saturday afternoon.
According to authorities, an unidentified woman said she was attacked by a man while walking near Philadelphia Street and South Carpenter Avenue about 4 p.m.
The man, identified as Catalino Hernandez Vijil, allegedly grabbed the victim around her neck and tried to pull her into a vehicle. She screamed and got away, police said.
Officials were able to identify Vijil with the help of witnesses and surveillance footage from a nearby business.
Vijil is facing charges for criminal attempted kidnapping, false imprisonment, unlawful restraint, simple assault and harassment.
