Man arrested on warrant after returning home for mom's funeral

CANONSBURG, Pa. — A Washington County man wanted on an outstanding warrant was arrested Tuesday when he returned home for his mother’s funeral.

Canonsburg police pulled over Jerry Kohn when he was on his way to pick out a cemetery plot for his mother, authorities said.

According to Kohn's wife, Mary, he was wanted on charges of driving on a suspended license.

Mary is worried her husband will be taken to jail in Allegheny County, where he is wanted for failing to appear in court about two years ago.

“They’re going to take my husband now probably to Allegheny County over a traffic fine? He’s not a killer. He’s not a rapist. He never hurt anyone in his life,” Kohn said.

A Washington County judge released Kohn for the funeral, which is Thursday.
