PENN HILLS, Pa. - Two teens were taken into custody after a fatal shooting Wednesday afternoon in Penn Hills.
According to police, a 21-year-old man was fatally shot near a park-and-ride on Third Street.
Investigators said 18-year-olds Traevon Nicholson and Marshall Thompson were charged with homicide, conspiracy and weapons violations. They’re both being held at the Allegheny County Jail.
Detectives investigating the incident said they believe the shooting stemmed from a drug deal and robbery.
“It’s usually a very safe area. I’ve never been concerned whatsoever about parking there,” said Debbie Kuntz.
Kuntz couldn’t pick up her car at her normal time Wednesday because her car was close to where police found a man shot to death.
Channel 11 was there as detectives pulled what appeared to be clothing from the trunk of the victim’s car.
“You think you live in a fairly nice place and you’re parking in a nice place. I know some outskirts are dangerous, but for the most part, this is a fairly nice neighborhood,” said Moore.
