Man found lying in Carnegie street identified

CARNEGIE, Pa. — The Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office on Saturday identified a Carnegie man who was found lying in the road with severe injuries.

Autopsy results hadn't been completed for Donald Ferrero Jr., 53, who was found on North Bell Avenue in Carnegie about 12:25 a.m. Friday. He died two hours later at Allegheny General Hospital on the North Side.

Carnegie police said Ferrero was suffering from severe head and chest injuries when he was found. Police believed he either might have fallen down a nearby hillside or been struck by a motorist.

Ferrero had lived in a nearby hotel since November, police said. Previously, he lived in Scott.
