Man killed after walking in front of big rig on I-376

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — A man was killed Friday morning after walking into the path of a big rig in Lawrence County.

According to police, the 46-year-old man walked in front of a tractor-trailer about 6 a.m. on Interstate 376.

Investigators told Channel 11’s Lori Houy that the man walked away from a mental health facility and purposely ran in front of the truck.

“He walked through the woods and stood in front of a semi going eastbound. The driver tried to miss him but was unable to do so,” Trooper Harry Gustafson said.

Officials said the man left behind a suicide note.
