PITTSBURGH — A man threatening to harm himself on a Parkway West overpass forced the outbound lanes of the roadway to be closed Saturday morning.
The incident happened at the top of Green Tree Hill. A man threatened to jump from the Exit 67 Green Tree/Crafton sign after having been seen sitting on a barrier around 5 a.m., police said.
Police were able to safely resolve the issue about 8:30 a.m.
A fire truck was used to bring the man down from the sign. He was unharmed.
Traffic was backed up on the Parkway West during the incident. The outbound lanes have since reopened.
