Fisherman pulled from Allegheny River in critical condition

BLAWNOX, Pa.,None — Emergency crews were called to the Allegheny River in Blawnox after someone spotted a man floating in the water Monday night.

Gina Gallagher said her boyfriend spotted David Graziano, 48, fishing from a dock and then he was in the water at about 5:30 p.m.

"He came running in and said, 'Call 911. There's a body floating,'" Gallagher said. "He saw the guy in the water but thought he'd be OK because he wasn't calling for help. He seemed to be holding onto the dock."

Officials said they still don't know how Graziano got into the water.

Crews were able to get him out, but emergency responders said he was unresponsive when they rushed him to the hospital.

Graziano was taken UPMC Presbyterian Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Neighbors said Graziano keeps to himself, lives alone and fishes often.
