BADEN, Pa. - Authorities said they believe a fire that claimed the life of a Baden man was deliberately set by the victim.
Firefighters were called to the home along North Avenue at about 5:20 a.m. Friday after trash collectors spotted flames in the single-story brick residence.
Crews found 54-year-old David Klimkowski unconscious in a hallway. He was rushed to Heritage Valley Sewickley hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Fire Chief David Trzcianka said the state fire marshal ruled the blaze intentionally set.
Trzcianka said investigators believe Klimkowski poured a flammable liquid on the dining room floor and set it on fire.
