Man shot after dropping his kids off at school in Homewood

HOMEWOOD, Pa. — Police are investigating after a man was shot moments after dropping his kids off at school in Homewood Friday morning.

Investigators said Christopher Carter dropped his two sons off at Helen Faison Elementary School along Hamilton Avenue about 9 a.m.

Bob Hawkins, who heard the shots fired, told Channel 11 News that he saw Carter walk out after dropping his kids off, get about a half-block away and then get shot.

"As he walked out, that's when the car pulled out, and at that point, we heard two gunshots, and he stumbled and fell on the ground," Hawkins said. "They never got out of the car. They just rolled the window down and shot."

Authorities said Carter is in stable condition. The incident remains under investigation.
