GREEN TREE, Pa. - A man was arrested shortly after attacking a woman in a Green Tree grocery store parking lot, police said.
According to reports, the incident happened Saturday in the Giant Eagle parking lot on McKinney Lane.
Officials said Christopher Aubele, of Pittsburgh’s South Side, approached the victim, 56, and threw her to ground while trying to steal her purse.
"It does actually surprise me because I frequent this location all the time coming to Giant Eagle, and I've never heard anything like that going on so it definitely takes me back a little bit," said shopper Kelsey Miller.
Police said the victim held on to her purse and Aubele fled the scene on foot. He was arrested a short distance away. Police said he had changed clothes but was identified by his tattoos.
Aubele is facing robbery charges.
