Police: Man wanted for carrying illegal firearm arrested with help of new website

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh man wanted for carrying an illegal firearm was arrested thanks in part to a new website, police said.

Edward Allie, of Homewood, was taken into custody in Munhall late Tuesday night. Police said Allie was wanted on firearms and drug charges.

Officials said Allie is the sixth firearm fugitive to be arrested since the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office started a firearms fugitives tip website.

The website allows people to send tips director to the Allegheny County sheriff.
