McKees Rocks man dies following shooting in Northview Heights

PITTSBURGH — A man died following a shooting at a party in Pittsburgh's Northview Heights neighborhood Saturday night.

Michael Wilson, 32, of McKees Rocks, died at Allegheny General Hospital early Sunday morning, the medical examiner's office said.

Police spokeswoman Sonya Toler said Wilson was shot in the chest about 10:45 p.m. in the 300 block of Penfort Street.

Channel 11 has learned that all areas inside Northview Heights are considered community spaces and the Housing Authority has to approve any event there, big or small.

Channel 11 spoke with the Housing Authority Monday and was told a man filled out a form to host a party there.  It is now looking to see whether it was ever approved.

The authority is also looking to see how big the party was supposed to be and how big it actually was.

Police don’t have any suspects and continue to investigate.
