McKEESPORT, Pa. - The strip club Saints and Sinners was supposed to open in McKeesport last Friday. It’s still not open, and residents are hoping to keep it that way.
"We have a brand new school that's just been built. It's a great hope for our young people and those are the things we want to push for. We don't think the atmosphere of what a strip club would bring is conducive to what we desire here in McKeesport," said Pastor Earlene Coleman.
Coleman was encouraged by the more than 50 people who came to Bethlehem Baptist Church Monday for a brainstorming session.
Residents plan to picket, write letters and start petitions, Channel 11’s Courtney Brennan reported.
The McKeesport mayor has publicly opposed the gentleman's club and said the owner doesn't have the correct permits. But that could change. New paperwork could be filed, and Coleman could have a much bigger fight on her hands.
Channel 11's partners at the Tribune-Review said the owner said he'll open sometime next week.
