GROVE CITY, Pa. - Police in Mercer County said they’re searching for a person who attacked a woman inside of a Grove City park.
According to Channel 11’s news exchange partners at Inside Butler County, the attack happened Monday at Grove City Memorial Park.
Police said a 41-year-old woman was walking around 6:30 a.m. when she was pushed from behind.
The victim told officers she struggled and the attacker ran away. The woman was not seriously hurt.
People who frequent the park told Channel 11’s Dave Bondy on Tuesday that they feel it’s a safe place.
“That’s a rarity here. It’s probably not the first time, but we’ve been here for 11 years and it’s a safe community,” Bruce Smith said.
Students at nearby Grove City College also walk the trials, and that forced the university to put out an alert.
So far, no arrests have been made. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to contact police.
