SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A missing hiker was reunited with family and friends Friday after she had gone missing in Laurel Ridge State Park in Fayette County on Thursday.
Police said Jane Donnelly and her dog, Zippy, were last seen around 3 p.m. on Thursday when she went ahead of her boyfriend on the trial.
Search teams used ATVs, dogs and a helicopter to look for her during the night, according to officers.
Around daybreak on Friday, she was found.
“I took a wrong turn immediately and went miles and miles and miles and then wandered down another trail,” said Donnelly.
Rescue crews said Donnelly stayed in the same place throughout the search, which made it easier for them to find her.
