Mom of fatal stabbing suspect: ‘I'm sorry everything happened'

FAYETTE COUNTY, Pa. — A man accused of stabbing a Fayette County woman to death last month appeared in court Wednesday.

According to police, Henry Crawford, 56, of Uniontown, kicked in the victim's door and stabbed her on Jan. 28.

Officers said when they arrived at the home, Crawford attempted to escape out of a back door but the home was surrounded.

Troopers said when they got inside they found Lisa Tupta, 48, on a couch with stab wounds to her neck and stomach. She was transported to an area hospital where she later died.

Crawford’s mother was at court Wednesday and told a Channel 11 News crew, “I’m sorry everything happened.”

Tupta’s sister and other family members also attended Crawford’s court appearance Wednesday.

Crawford is facing criminal homicide and burglary charges. All charges were held for court.
