Mom, girlfriend meet Somerset Co. soldier on leave from Afghanistan at airport

PITTSBURGH — A Channel 11 News crew was at the Pittsburgh International Airport Wednesday to witness a very special reunion between a soldier on leave from Afghanistan and his Somerset County family.

"I feel like crying and screaming. I don't even know, I'm just really excited," Courtney Little said.

Little's boyfriend, Aaron Engleka, will be home for a total of eight days for Thanksgiving. The 21-year-old said he joined the Army right after high school because he wanted to serve his country.

Engleka's mother, Sharon Engleka, said she carries around photos of her son everywhere she goes.

"It's sort of bittersweet because he's home for Thanksgiving, but then he leaves again," Sharon Engleka said. "I baked five pies yesterday. We're having turkey, ham and the whole works."

Channel 11's Renee Kaminski asked Aaron what he's most looking forward to while being home and he said, "Food. Just keeping it simple."
