Mom remembers son who bled to death in car

OHIO TOWNSHIP, Pa. — The mother of a man who bled to death in his car on the Parkway North talked to Channel 11 on Wednesday.

Jey Yuhas, 34, died two weeks ago, the day before his mother's birthday.

"Jey was the kind of son you would love to have.  He was all about family.  He loved the Steelers.  He loved to cook," said Yuhas' mother, Monica Carrier.

Carrier said Yuhas dealt with medical issues from a young age and endured dialysis several times a week.  He recently had a surgical procedure on his arm, and that began to bleed heavily before Yuhas was found dead, Carrier said.

Yuhas was an organ donor, and his mother takes comfort in knowing that he lives on in part.

"His eyes, his ears, tissue, bone marrow will live on through someone else," Carrier said.

Yuhas' family is organizing a benefit to offset funeral expenses.  The event will be held at Pub IG in Oakland on April 13 from 6:30 p.m. to 2 a.m.
