Mourners say angry rooster at cemetery is chasing them away

PITTSBURGH — Mourners say an angry rooster at Mount Mary's Cemetery is chasing them away.

Phil Morrison promised his daughter they would visit the gravesite of his wife and her mother.

"It just doesn't seem right.  It's supposed to be a place where people can come and grieve in peace, and my daughter's afraid to come up here now," said Morrison.

Morrison said a rooster attacked his daughter and other members of his family during a recent visit.

Channel 11 obtained a copy of the township ordinance for keeping small wildlife animals.  It said they must be confined in quarters no closer than 25 feet from the exterior limits of any dwelling or property line.

Officials said some chickens got loose last Friday and belong to the caretaker.

As of Monday afternoon, Channel 11 could not reach the caretaker for comment.

Township and police officials said they'll be keeping an eye on the situation.
