Family, friends and co-workers honored a man on Tuesday who made the ultimate sacrifice for his nation.
Mark Melcher was a national guardsman from Mt. Lebanon.
He was killed in Iraq on this date in 2006.
Melcher also worked at Bank of New York Mellon.
On Tuesday, Melcher’s co-workers stood outside in the snow to hold their annual memorial service for him.
Melcher’s parents laid a wreath next to his memorial at Mellon Green.
Melcher was 34 years old when he was killed.
