Neighbor rescues woman from burning home in Darlington

DARLINGTON, Pa. — A neighbor ran into a burning home in Darlington early Sunday morning to save a woman who was trapped inside.

Firefighters said the neighbor rescued a woman from a burning home along Darlington Road and then tried to go back inside to rescue a man who was still inside, but the fire and smoke were too overwhelming.

According to firefighters, they arrived at the scene at that point, went in the house, found the man in the kitchen and rescued him.

The man was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital, but his condition was not available, according to officials.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
